This hotel was the winner of Channel 4's hit show 'Four in a Bed'. The light and airy rooms and suites have a modern decor and useful facilities. Like the hotel, the Avenue Cafe Bar and Restaurant is modern in design and has an informal and relaxed atmosphere. Fresh produce from local suppliers is used to prepare food, which is available at very reasonable prices. The hotel has a fully equipped, 2-storey conference centre, which is ideal for corporate meetings. Blackburn Rovers’ football ground is adjacent to the hotel, and some first-floor rooms have stunning views of the training field.

Great value find

Pros: There is a generous amount of parking onsite (free). We paid for the cooked weekend breakfast which was delicious and very filling. The room was large and very recently decorated, as very clean. Large bed with lovely pillows/duvet. Huge wardrobe space with iron and ironing board! Exceeded our expectations.

Cons: The car park could do with some outside lights can be difficult to see when unloading the cars at night. A small fridge in the bedroom wouldn’t go a miss but that would be a luxury.

Pros: Fab venue, friendly staff, great bar prices, and the full English breakfast was fantastic.

Cons: Personally I prefer a soft mattress, but it was a large comfy bed.

True Lancashire welcome, great food and chilled stay

Pros: We had a fabulous stay at The Avenue. Dinner was excellent and great value for money. Enjoyable and lively bar/restaurant. Relaxed breakfast which has fantastic - piping hot and very freshly made - and delicious! Comfy beds and a lovely view over the senior training ground which was a great bonus for my Rovers mad son! And we met 2 Rovers legends whilst staying which was the cherry on top :-)

Pros: Very quiet location, close to my work base. Clean, warm & comfortable bed.

Cons: Wasn't able to enjoy the complimentary breakfast in the week as it wasn't served until 7.30am which was sadly too late for me
