Fantastic place to stay and eat with great staff.

Pros: Love the pub and the food. They were fantastic with my allergies in the restaurant. It is a great location both to travel in to the lakes and for enjoying all Cartmel has to offer.

Cons: Loved the restaurant, buzz in the bar, great food and staff were lovely and helpful.

We enjoy coming to the Cavendish and will return for its warm welcome and brilliant location and cleanliness.

Pros: Very central to the village, delicious meals in the pub and very friendly staff.

Cons: Very difficult to shower in the bath as no cubicle. Light kept turning off. Breakfast could have more to offer like cereal and fruit and toast and preserves. Very enjoyable what was on offer.

The most wonderful warm welcome in a beautiful historic inn

Pros: The most beautiful historic inn, a warm and welcoming atmosphere, beautifully appointed rooms, and a truly outstanding restaurant. The staff are all brilliant, helpful, knowledgeable and friendly.

Cons: The shower was a bit unpredictable. But at the price, in this location, I’m not going to complain.

Great location and a lovely place to stay

Pros: Great location very traditional building with original features. Room was very clean however the radiator didn’t work too well and the room was a little cold. Very comfortable bed and well appointed bathroom though the shower lacked power! The building is very old so the floors and walls were far from level but this added to the authentic feel. The breakfast was excellent

Cons: Cold room and poor radiator. Shower wasn’t very powerful.
