Halsteads: peaceful location

Pros: The accommodation was lovely and homely. The scenery was amazing and the house was fully equipped for anything and everything you would need for a relaxing break. The hosts have thought about every detail even the smallest of things. Mike was more than helpful with anything we needed and we would love to return soon.

Cons: There was nothing we didn't like.

Pros: Wow what a hidden gem! We loved the entire trip, the cottage was lovely with incredible views, and lovely hosts with great attention to detail, providing lots of info for day trips. Perfect location for some personal space and not too far from where we wanted to go and see in the Lakes. We will be definitely be back!!

This was exactly the restful and refreshing break we needed.

Pros: Beautiful view, very quiet and peaceful, comfy beds and fantastic fire place! Our hosts were so helpful and provided everything we could possibly need.

Pros: Where do I start! The property - welcoming, spacious, cosy and well facilitated. From the drive, up the steps right into the front door, everything was perfect. The garden was well laid out as the weather complimented the breath of fresh air and scenic vibes the Halsted was situated on. Every room in this property was spacious and well fitted. The terrace - No time was spent inside the house eating as all meals were eaten outside on the terrace as every moment was not to be missed. The local place - if you are a village person and enjoy peace and quiet then this is the place you need to be in. Me and my family were right at home and we will be returning back to the Halsted home.

Cons: Nothing to hate for the area and the home were just perfect.

Pros: Just like being at home. everything you could need is there even small flask to take coffee out for the day!

Cons: There is a lot of steps outside the property which my 3 year old managed very well but any younger they may have struggled a little.

Perfect place for us and in a great location.

Pros: One of the best places we've stayed after coming to the Lake District for more than 40 years. Clean, comfortable, spacious, with everything we needed. Plenty of off-road parking. In a quiet village with beach & hill walks nearby, and a little train station so no need to use our car.

Cons: Nothing.

Pros: The bungalow was so spacious and we loved the view from the back rooms over the fields and mountains. The kitchen was exceptionally well appointed meaning we even cooked a roast one night and played scrabble. The area has lots to do (nature, castles, museums etc) and the sunsets over the water were phenomenal. Southern Cumbria is often overlooked but we cannot recommend it enough. Thanks for a brilliant long weekend.
