A relaxing stay with great staff

Pros: The staff were second to none. Really polite, helpful and professional. Agy* (spelling) in particular was fantastic. The location was also good for a break, of a little out of the way. The main house had lots of character.

Cons: Rooms are a little dated, some cleaning issues (which admittedly was resolved right away), and a few electrical fuse issues. Again, while frustrating, staff sorted things quickly.

Lovely, friendly hotel

Pros: Great location with the nicest staff. I was there with my parents and their little dog, so we ate in the bar. But we were made to feel very welcome throughout our stay. I upgraded to a small suite, and this gave me a super comfortable bed, lots of sitting space and a spa bath. Although the powerful shower was the main attraction! We didn't have the best weather for our visit, but the grounds were still lovely. The gym facilities are excellent by hotel standards with a good range of S&C equipment and plenty of cardio kit including three decent running machines! I also appreciated that the facilities were open early.

Cons: Whilst my room was spacious and spotlessly clean, I think it might be ready for a bit of a refresh.

I can't wait to come back!

Pros: The staff were excellent. I was incredibly unwell on checkout day, but they managed to move us to a different room just a few feet away. The lovely Polish lady helped me carry my luggage down the following morning, as I was still feeling quite weak. The beds are very comfortable, the decor is beautiful and every member of staff was so pleasant.

Cons: My only grumble is how cold the rooms can get overnight. However, a building like this is prone to be difficult to heat, and the bed linen was more than able to warm us up. I'm also a 'soft southerner' so I'm not used to the colder climate of the north. Not a complaint, just an observation. You were perfect. Oh, and the black pudding on the breakfast was awful. A firm Lancashire version would be much nicer!

Great location

Pros: We like its location for exploring the Lancashire area and a nice place to return to at the end of the day to relax

Pros: We like the ambiance of this hotel. It’s very comfortable. This has been our second visit and we definitely will stay again.

Pros: The main house and the view were great. The breakfast was good

Pros: Everythink about it the staff were so friendly especially the Sunday morning when they were so caring in letting me take my wifes breakfast to our room

Pros: Hotel, staff ,grounds everything was perfect the little touches added to the rooms and the man playing piano when we went for are everything meal was all perfect

Lovely room but not happy with restaurant. The owners need to take a good look at what they offer.

Pros: We stay here quite frequently and always enjoy our stay

Cons: Well , sadly this was the first time we had dinner in the restaurant and it was a disaster. The staff were very nice although some what inexperienced, but the food was very poor. A very limited menu and was not up to standard. However the breakfast was very good. We were very disappointed with dinner but understand that the restaurant had only just reopened. I don’t like to complain about this hotel because we do enjoy the lovely rooms however it’s obvious that work needs to be done on making the restaurant popular. Whilst we will definitely stay again we won’t be dining. It’s sad because I would have loved to give the restaurant a star billing.

Bed and breakfast with super staff and quality service!

Pros: Wonderful warm and friendly welcome from the receptionist. Super comfortable mattress and lovely quality clean bedding. Friendly, happy and helpful employees in general. Breakfast exceeded expectations, super quality and great value for money!
