Lovely stay in a great hotel with a superb breakfast!

Pros: Breakfast was superb, previously stayed and it was buffet style, this time there was a menu choice which was really good, lots of choice and very high standard. Our room was also upgraded free of charge which was a nice surprise.

Cons: A couple of plug sockets in our room didn't work but not a real issue

Really friendly staff

Pros: The managers of the restaurant (an older man and a young blonde girl) were just a joy! They couldn’t do enough for everyone on Valentine’s Day to make sure it was a lovely evening which it certainly was. They had a live pianist playing which really set the scene and the food was absolutely second to none! The breakfast manager in the morning was a huge delight too and very friendly! The receptionist could’ve been a little more friendlier and welcoming I have to say.

A great place to stay if you’re in Darwen

Pros: Lovely staff, big en-suite room in a quiet part of the hotel (much appreciated as there was a large party in the restaurant area).

Cons: The only downside was lack of choice for my wife at the breakfast buffet. She doesn’t eat meat. Sometimes on previous visits there has been a full menu of hot options, but this time she basically had some toast and granola for £12.

We had a lovely room at a bargain price… the hotel is lovely

Pros: Beautiful property … so glad we had a 4WD car and not a Ferrari … the drive is desperate

Cons: Only the driveway it is full of potholes…

We are returning guests because of the location, value for money and friendly staff.

Pros: We've stayed at Astley Bank on a number of occasions now. It is easy to get to and has plenty of free parking, The site is in a quiet location and the staff are extremely helpful and friendly. We like the cosy ambiance of the old part, the bar and restaurant. The hotel offers an excellent breakfast and we also enjoyed a nicely presented and well cooked evening meal.

Cons: The breakfast room was a little cramped, especially when a number of guests arrived at the same time. But this is easily outweighed by the range of food on offer and the friendly, efficient service.
