Pros: Very convenient hotel. Across the road from the railway station although we came by car. Free parking in a dedicated car park next to the station. Very friendly staff both in the evening and morning.

One night stay, will definitely be returning

Pros: Great location for local bars, restaurants and shops. Staff are extremely friendly and can't do enough for you. The place was immaculately clean throughout. Finally the rooms are superb value for the money. They are well equipped and a fantastic size.

Nice friendly staff

Pros: Good location and friendly welcoming staff at reception and bar/ dining room staff

Cons: Lovely executive room-which was very clean but disappointed with a smell coming from the plumbing/ bathroom that lasted 2 days- we had to keep the window open.

Clean & tidy hotel with a good bar/restaurant with great polite service.

Pros: The property is a nice classic old building modernised to a good standard without losing its character.

Cons: Lots of creaking floors in the room and hearing snoring through walls.

Visit to Barrow 31st Jan

Pros: Stayed in a family room (no.101). Accommodation was fantastic, really it should be called a suite with 2 completely separate bedrooms. Super comfy beds and pretty quiet (except when next door put the TV on full blast!). We ate there in the evening and had breakfast, food recommended.with great choice for vegetarians. Just have to mention that the staff work really hard and sometimes looked like they were rushed off their feet, they certainly earned their wages.

Cons: Not much really.

Great period hotel - brilliant breakfast!

Pros: Really surprising well restored listed building but with modern feeling sizeable rooms and good beds. The staff were really excellent and the check in smooth. The car parking was easy. One of the finest full english breakfasts I've had in a hotel in a very long time.

Cons: Bit of noise from the room next door but this is a hazard of period buildings. Window very hard to open and shut.
