West Point House

Pros: Easy to get to , easy checkin , very clean and tidy. Went between christmas and new year for 2 nights so we were the only ones in the building i think didn't hear or see anyone else. I think it would be very full and busy with contractors in the warmer months but would still consider booking again

Very pleasant stay

Pros: Excellent balance of privacy and community. It is like a hotel with some hostel features (the good ones!). It was very quiet as most guests use it for accommodation during work weeks, and we stayed for a long bank holiday weekend.

Cons: The view from the close-by beach was spoiled by too many wind farms.

An amazing place with fantastic staff and facilities

Pros: this little gem has a huge lounge area, fantasitc kitchen and fresh rooms. great value and really impressive liaison between the staff prior to arrival. very little (nothing) to fault or have issue with, safe parking and plentiful.

Cons: Whilst the facilities were amazing, an idea of what was avaiable to be used and what is not would have been really helpful. whilst i arraived late and therefore opportunities to engage limited, it would have been useful to know what fridge etc belonged to who. I was also not sure if milk was provided (as in the tea and coffee), so did without... it would have been nice to know whether the milk in the frridge was communal milk and for general use or - as i assumed - bought by someone else.... i ask as it remained unuponed throughout.

A quiet weekend stay at a clean and well equipped lodge.

Pros: Very clean rooms, a nice common room area and well-equipped kitchens give the traveller flexibility for self-catering. The hotel was sparsely occupied at the weekend (used mainly by contractors during the week I imagine) and we felt we had the place to ourselves. Friendly staff were on hand and keep the place very tidy.

Pros: Rooms are all immaculately clean, everything you need is to hand, there are great communal areas, spacious lounge and kitchen and a lovely sunny garden and picnic area.

Cons: Nothing, all great.

Pros: I wanted a reasonably priced room and a safe place to park my motorcycle, this hotel was perfect, there is a pub within walking distance, Barrow and its facilities are a short drive away, everything required for storage and cooking is provided so self catering or eating out are both easy options, there's a beautiful coastal walk nearby, plenty of places to visit in the area, yet the island is so quiet, I will definitely visit again.

Pros: No hassle check in and depart. Clean and kitchen very well kitted out for multiple guests. lounge was an excellent place to meet and chat with others.

Pros: Excellent location comfortable room nothing to dislike

Friendly, Comfortable and Value for Money!

Pros: The communal areas for eating and relaxing were excellent. The ability to engage with others staying made it a friendly environment. Free tea and coffee available from the well-equipped kitchen. Good area for parking and felt like it was a safe location. Although there were no staff when I checked in, it was an easy process. The room was a single, but spacious, with an excellent quality bed, and recently refurbished, modern bathroom. Very comfortable room. Some refurbishing work is ongoing around the premises, but didn't impact my stay. For those staying longer there us a laundry area and staff offer a laundry service for a small charge.

Cons: Although there appeared to be some form of air-conditioning or ventilation in the room, it didn't seem to work. We were in the midst of a heatwave so did make it difficult to cool down in the room, so it was a cold shower that did the job! The blinds on the window didn't block out the early morning sun, not a problem for me as I am an early riser, but you may want to consider black out curtains to supplement the blinds. The LED lighting in the room is a little under powered, OK for watching TV, but trying to pack a bag or do anything else in low light , made it a harder job than it should have been. This is just constructive feed-back and not in anyway meant to detract from a very enjoyable stay. Outside of the property requires some tidying, in the garden areas.

Pros: Comfortable room with a well-appointed bathroom....the shower is excellent. Nice big lounge, a sizeable garden that's great for chilling in and an unbelievable kitchen for all guests to use..
