Pros: It was very clean and tidy and the directions given made it very east to find ...it was in a lovely location nice and quiet area..very spacious ...Nice layout of the property we loved every minute of it whilst we were there...would highly recommend this property for anyone

Good value weekend break.

Pros: Beautiful location, spacious comfortable living area, outside area for dog. Good value for money - if you don't want the height of luxury, as it could do with some refurbishment. Near a great garden centre for breakfast. Parking for a couple of cars.

Cons: Only one shower over bath - en-suite no shower just bath. Some matresses in need of replacement. Main bedroom only had double bed and the kingsize was in another small room - seemed odd! Wifi not the best - although 2 to choose between. No phone signal.

Lovely cottage in a beautiful location

Pros: Lovely spacious cottage in a perfect location for visiting the university and Lancaster centre. Very comfortable and clean with a good range of kitchen equipment. The host was friendly and communicative and responded quickly to my questions. Nice outside area overlooking the fields.

Cons: The wifi and mobile signal were very patchy but we managed by going outside where the signal was better. It would have been nice to have some soap in the bathrooms and maybe a small welcome package on arrival - milk, wine, tea and coffee biscuits. I know this is not a necessity but we have got something like that everywhere else we have booked and it leaves a lasting impression.

Cons: The update emails that I was sent were out of date. Tea towels, an oven glove, and bin bags are provided, so you don't need to take those. Towels and bed linen are also provided. The directions to get to Poppy Cottage are unclear. Poppy Cottage is part of Ashton Hall Cottages. When you get to the turnoff to Ashton Hall Garden Centre (off the A588), go straight ahead down that little road (you will pass the turnoff to the Garden Centre on your right). Go straight ahead until the Ashton Golf Centre building is straight ahead of you, where you turn left. Then take the next left which is a tiny road which is next to Ashton Hall Cottages, where you can park. We had our breakfasts and dinners at the nearby Stork Hotel.

Great property in a nice convenient spot

Pros: Modern and spacious, lovely and quiet, good outlook onto lambs in fields, slept well, convenient location.

Cons: The Wi-Fi and the hot tap in the downstairs bathroom
