Pros: Great location at end of canal by Morcombe Bay. Beautiful views across the estuary with twinkling lights from Morecambe to Blackpool tower. This is where we celebrated walking the end of the Cumbria Way. Hearty food, good beer and homely fire...

Pros: Food was superb the staff brilliant amd location a hidden gem and very quiet the only gripe was a dog in next room barking on last night but that was the dog owners fault not the hotel so overall fabulous we will be visiting again for sure

Well worth the distance we had to travel to get there!

Pros: Friendly, efficient staff. Cosy atmosphere with log fire in the bar. View of the bay.

Cons: Cold in the conservatory for breakfast despite heaters. Would have preferred to sit in the warmer bar area.

Wonderful relaxing stay – and you can come by train!

Pros: We enjoyed a relaxing 2 night stay in this warm and welcoming hotel. The weather was not good, but we happily passed the time watching the birds on the estuary, had lunch in the conservatory and evening drinks by the fire in the bar. Staff were all friendly and efficient and helped to make it a very pleasant time for us. Next time we hope to be able to do some walks! We came by train to Ulverston - from the station it’s an hour’s walk along the canal - or you can take a taxi!

A surprisingly good overnight stay with fabulous views.

Pros: Fabulous location right on the estuary - the sunrise was spectacular! The breakfast was good and the accommodation perfect for our dog as we could enter and leave the room via the shared verandah. The hotel is a little faded, but clean and comfortable.

Pros: Lovely old pub in a secluded location on the estuary. Fabulous food in the restaurant and warm, comfortable rooms.

Cons: Breakfasts were rather expensive...£2.50 per slice of bacon added to your scrambled eggs and £3 for 2 very small slices of toast.
