Picket Post House Accommodation

A very enjoyable two night stay in the double room with private bathroom.

Pros: My room on the upper floor looked out on to the Lancaster Canal so I was able to watch a couple of deer on the bank opposite and have a narrowboat pass under the window! I had everything I needed with a bathroom along the corridor.

Cons: Maybe a shower in the bathroom would improve the facilities rather the very large bath. However, a shower is available for guests to use on the ground floor and if I had stayed longer I might have used it.

The cottage has such a warm, homely vibe that made us feel relaxed and comfortable from the moment we arrived. It truly felt like a home away from home. The facilities were faultless — everything was thoughtfully presented and well maintained. The setting is simply stunning, with the most scenic and gorgeous surroundings that made our stay even more special. It’s peaceful, charming, and perfectly suited to anyone who appreciates that cosy cottage atmosphere. This place is completely right up our street, and we wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again. We highly recommend Picket Post House to anyone looking for a beautiful, comfortable getaway.

Pros: This is the most wonderful place to stay - we can't recommend it enough! Such a sweet little place and the breakfast included was phenomenal. We will definitely be back to stay, so glad that we found this little gem.

Pros: Lovely property, situated in a quiet area next to canal with private parking. Very clean , breakfast was lovely and fresh, had best sleep for ages. Julie was so welcoming.

Beautiful cottage with unexpected space and extra comfort

Pros: Kitchen work unexpectedly was available and so we were moved to the cottage, which was wonderful. Clean and warm. A real bonus

Pros: This is one of the remaining B&Bs where the proprietor takes pride in their facilities. I have stayed in a few B&Bs over the past few years, and this one shines like a splendid beacon. It is clear this is not someone wanting to make a few £, but a person who takes enormous pride in what they do. Thank you for providing such wonderful accommodation.

Cons: Loved everything. I'm just sad that there aren't more places like this where the owner cares so much about the service they provide.

A restful wonderful stay

Pros: The area is beautiful and peaceful. The accommodation is spacious, clean and thoughtfully laid out. The bed is very comfortable. We arrived 5.30pm and had purchased a pie for dinner. Didn't fancy going out for dinner. So we needed Julie's help to heat up the pie. Julie not only heated up the pie but the serving plates as well. On a cold night, that was super nice. It was an overnight stay but we left feeling cared for. It was raining and chilly. However Julie's place was warm and really comfortable.

A nice relaxing place surrounded by nature.

Pros: It was in a quiet part and relaxing. Friendly welcoming host. Lovely and clean. Good size room and bathroom with a claw foot bath (heaven to relax in) Good choice of continental breakfast with warm croissants just out the oven. Can have full breakfast for a small charge.

PPH is FAB.

Pros: Beautiful house in lovely location. Julie is a great host. Enjoyed our short stay, and left very relaxed. Room was equipped really well, and felt like home. Continental breakfast was very nice too. All in all very good value.
