We booked last minute so we were really pleased to get such a good property in such a good location.

Pros: Whoever built the property 20/30 years ago did a really good job. Two bathrooms and a downstairs toilet/ utility room- very unusual in a holiday cottage of this size. Excellent heating and hot water, and double glazing. Comfortable beds and sofa. Fantastic location on the edge of the town. Didn’t take the car out for 2 days because shops, restaurants and local walks were all close by. So is the train station.

Cons: The waste pipe to the bath was broken before we arrived and water had flooded the utility room downstairs. The maintenance guy arrived the morning after we did and fixed the bath, but obviously the flood had left a damp smell and water damage which is going to take time to sort out. We kept the door shut and the extractor fan on as much as possible. It didn’t really affect our stay. Kitchen and bathrooms are tired and need some updating especially the shower and shower screens, but they were clean and everything worked so only a minor grumble. Parking. There are 5 cottages and only room for 6/7 average sized cars. This should be put on advertising and rental sites as it could be a problem when renters bring more than one vehicle. There is a good public car park a few yards away. Free between 6pm and 8am or currently £41 for 7 nights. No tumble drier and only a very small airer with little space to put it. No outdoor space. Just a bench out side the front door would have been nice as we had very hot weather.

Great cosy place!

Pros: The place is very nice and comfortable. They left everything clean and is nicely decorated, with everything you need for a comfortable short stay. A very short walk from the city center. Generally speaking, the house is very good!

Cons: Communication with the owner/administration was not very effective or timely. They either took very long to reply or would not reply at all (once).

Pros: Discovered very bad stains on the single bed whoch grossed me out. I was expecting a mattress proctor but none provided. Queen bed was good 👍

Cons: Overall the house was very modern and clean, cozy.

Festival weekend!

Pros: Location, comfortable furnishings including the beds and off street parking. Nice and warm!

Cons: A number of light bulbs not functioning. Lack of toiletries, (I realise they are not necessities).

Pros: Central location, roomy, clean, modern. Owner got back to me very quickly when I asked a question.

Cons: Ensuite shower needs modernising and shower doors were broken.

Good value.

Pros: The location was very good and near everything we wished to see. The property had all the advertised amenities. Heating and hot water worked very well.

Cons: The parking was a bit of an issue as the parking is not allocated by property, and the street parking is restricted (residential permit) at certain times. While we felt the property was clean there was issues with the linoleum in the bathroom/loo and the shower seals were very discoloured. There was also some black bit on the tiles. We did have an issue with the WiFi details but when we contacted the host they were more than helpful.

Pros: Second visit to Laurel Court whilst visiting Ulverston on Business. Easy key collection arrangements. Good to be able to park immediately outside. The house is situated in the town centre, so it is a short walk to the town's shops and pubs etc. The facilities are good and the property is clean and well maintained. Overall, good value for money. Will definitely stay there again when next visiting the town.

Cons: Nothing. Only one thing of note - if arriving in winter and its cold, turn the thermostat up on arrival and the whole place heats up in no time. More of a note to other visitors rather than something I didn't like!
