Luxury hotel with service to match

Pros: Amazing hotel with first class service. Every detail has been thought of, from the lovely welcome, to the chauffeur service, to the gorgeous rooms and amenities, everything was perfect. Fantastic stay.

Luxury night escape in a beautiful manor house.

Pros: The location was perfect with the beautiful scenery. The standard of the hotel is outstanding. The high quality, beautiful, tasteful decor is gorgeous. If you like interior design you’ll live and appreciate the amount of time, thought and dedication planned into the surroundings. We stated in number 10 which was faultless. Champagne on arrival was perfect and we sat in the drawing room feeling like lord and lady of the manor! The friendliness of all the staff was appreciated as was the chauffeur ride into the village for our evening meal. Breakfast was first class with great attention to detail and the taste and flavours were spot on. We can’t wait to return and try another of the decadent rooms!

Dog-friendly cosy hotel

Pros: A beautiful dog-friendly hotel with fantastic breakfast and a lovely manager who looked after us the whole time. Love the little touches like champagne (and a dog toy!) on arrival and the makeup flannels in the bathrooms. Great shower and comfy bed. There's an EV charger on site which was an unexpected bonus. The location is perfect too. I'm a travel writer so stay in a lot of places and this one is excellent. Will definitely return!

Cons: Only thing I'd change would be the Roman blinds (room 8) which don't block all of the light out as they're not quite big enough for the window. It was fine in winter but would wake me up in summer.

Luxury

Pros: Beautiful room, champagne on arrival, chauffeur to our evening meal and very comfortable.

Cons: Unfortunately, for us our breakfast experiance let the place down slightly.

Exceptional place to stay.

Pros: Everything was exceptional from the room to the breakfast. We couldn’t fault anything.

Luxurious, stunning and outstanding staff.

Pros: The property was stunning. The attention to detail and the little thoughtful gestures around the room with toiletries Milton Brown, lavender pillow spray , Dyson air dryer and the artwork and finish to the rooms oozed luxury. The staff members were both amazing nothing too much trouble Mark and Lisa

Pros: Very high quality, stylish spec with excellent attention to detail throughout. Little touches were very good. Staff (Gillian & Mark) were super friendly, helpful & clearly proud of the hotel. Breakfast v good. The shuttle into Cartmel is a great idea.

Cons: Room 10 was a lovely spec & beautifully finished; however became very stuffy as couldn’t open windows due to large number of flies gathering in the room. We were provided with fly spray quickly but not offered an alternative room (which I guess was owing to other rooms being full to accommodate a business meeting being held there). There are steps up to the bathroom which some people may not like.

Pros: Excellent decor and surroundings. Delicious breakfast. Great to have taxi service. Gillian and Mark were warm, welcoming and clearly wanted us to enjoy our stay. Thank you
