Pros: Lovely ground floor annex with everything I needed for my stay.. Well equipped, soft comfy bed and essential in the ensuite bathroom. All the manuals for appliances were on hand too. Really useful. I would have liked to explore round the lakes, but the weather wasn't playing nice 😉. I'd definitely recommend and would stay again. The whatthreewords location was a godsend.

Cons: Nothing really. I could hear what I thought was the motorway and the approach is very dark. Nothing the host could do much about really

Fabulous stay for a couple with a dog.

Pros: Lovely little cabin in a quiet area next to a fishing lake. Great facilities, comfy bed, and it was lovely sitting next to the fire in the evening. Dog definitely enjoyed and loads of dog-friendly cafes and restaurants nearby with lots of good walks! Especially loved that the blinds lifted up so our dog could watch the world outside!

Wonderful, hidden gem!!

Pros: Property was self catering and therefor no breakfast supplied. (Strange question!) Delightful little property, within secure isolated area! Great walks for the dogs. A little awkward to find initially, but that was partly my fault for getting the name wrong. But once found, was a delightful little place! I will definitely stay again when working in the area!!

Cons: Nothing!! The stay was perfect!!

chilled, relaxed,

Pros: Really good! Stayed last night mainly for work, Left to your own devices which is great, kirsty came over this morning apologising that she had forgot about my late check out (11am) but there was no need too! great stay, only issue and its really really minor... Spiders and cobwebs on the bathroom ceiling!! will not stop me staying again and i have recommended to my staff when in the area to book this place, especially the fact Kirsty saved me a trip into manchester- allowing me to have the meeting on teams till 11am! i appreciate that

Cons: All great!

Lovely, compact accommodation with everything I needed for a 1 night stay.

Pros: Lovely, modern accommodation with good facilities. Good to be able to park so close. Nice walks on the doorstep, so the dog was happy too! Owners were on holiday but were contactable for any queries.

Cons: There is still some work to be finished externally but it didn’t look like it would be much longer until that is done.

Well worth staying here

Pros: Loved this hideaway nestled in a quiet backwater. The hosts were really helpful and only a phone call away. They truly want guests to enjoy their stay.

Cons: All of it

Lovely Self Catering Unit Ideal for short stay (just check location before you go)

Pros: It was a lovely recently renovated self catering cabin, with everything you need for an overnight stay. Bed is comfy and bathroom is clean with fluffy towels. The fridge is quiet, kitchen is well equipped and there tea, coffee, sugar and milk were provided. Once you drive through the industrial estate you do get to a secluded location which is part of Croft Fisheries, surrounded by trees, walks and fishing lakes. We arrived later than expected as we couldn't find the place so got a take away from Adlington Spice which was good. We walked around in the evening looking at the fishing lakes, and fields. The Railway is quite close by but it is quiet and trains don't run overnight. There is a Co-op in Adlington, and a Tesco express.

Cons: It is not in Blackrod but in Adlington. Huyton Road is split into two parts. My Sat Nav (Google maps) took me to Huyton Road leading to Huyton Terrace. This is not the right road! You need Huyton Road off the A6 (Market Street) in Adlington and drive through an industrial estate until the end of the road. The postcode is the same for both roads. Maybe I missed some driving directions communication from the host but it added 40 minutes to our journey making us arrive frazzled and hungry. I perhaps should have called the host. I am sorry to say that the drains smelt bad, outside where we were sitting in the evening there was an open drain but also the sink in the bathroom was smelly too. The loo is right next to sink, so you can't help but breathe it in. The outside seating is overlooking the carpark. Access to the Internet needs a connection to EE mobile phone services so we could get internet on our phones but not the laptop that I needed for work. The TV had no antenna so you couldn't watch live TV on Freeview, and since the it needs an connection to EE there was no other services on the TV (Netflix, prime etc). We eventually managed to connect to a different WIFI setup that was on the TV but it was not saved as a default. The host is onsite so I should have asked for help. The security light came on several times in the night which was incredibly bright, like daylight. It still made the bedroom very bright even though there were blinds on the window. A blackout curtain may be helpful for us light sleepers.
