Lovely lakeside retreat on the edge of the Lake District

Pros: The lodge is fantastic - modern, roomy, comfortable, and equipped and furnished to a high standard. We loved its location right on the lakeside and we could not fault it at all. It was the perfect getaway for us and our four kids, with lots to do locally (paid-for swimming pool on site), a play barn and animal farm five minutes away, the coast 20 minutes in one direction and the Lakes 25 minutes the other. We definitely hope to visit again!

Cons: The lodge could do with having a folding clothes dryer/airer/maiden. There is a washer/dryer but of course not everything can go in the tumbler. FEEDBACK FOR SITE MANAGEMENT: We called ahead and spoke to the site management to check whether we would be able to have a supermarket delivery to the lodge. We were told this would be fine. On the day of arrival our delivery driver was refused access and the staff were all ready to have our groceries unloaded at the side of the road (in the dark, in the rain). This would have meant going back and forth several (probably 10-12 times by hand) with our food shop for the whole week since we had not yet unloaded the car (we had arrived 10 minutes prior). The manager said deliveries on site were against site rules and was very reluctant to allow the driver on site, but in the end he relented as my wife explained how she had double checked. The surly and unhelpful attitude did sour our arrival but thankfully we had no other reason to interact with the management staff.

Pros: Tranquil, clean, modern. The most peaceful break I have ever had. Will definitely be returning.

Cons: No availability in the spa, so will book in advance next time. Property itself was perfect.

Great lodge we will return

Pros: It was beautiful inside it had everything we needed and the view was superb

Pros: The lodge is beautiful. Very high standard. Beds were comfy, and the view was amazing over the lake. The veranda gets the sun all day, and we found it peaceful and relaxing.

Cons: There was nothing we didn't like.

Pros: The lodge was in a great location for visiting Lakes, Morecambe Lancaster Very well equipped Smart tvs in all rooms and dvd player which isn’t mentioned when booking

Cons: A MUCH EARLIER CHECK IN 5.00pm far to late, asked for early check in and was declined Mattresses and pillows could do with changing

Winter relaxation

Pros: The lodge was stunning and the view beautiful. We both loved the lodge and directions for getting into the leisure village were very helpful. The lodge was honestly the best we have ever stayed in, stunning! The pressure from the shower was fantastic. The kitchen was very well stocked with all the equipment that you would expect and more.

Cons: Taxi service was quite poor, maybe due to time of year, we wanted to have a few nights out in the local villages, walking is fine for us but not through unfamiliar and unlit areas. The bed in the main bedroom was not very comfortable it may need replacing or a mattress topper. The bath was not connected to a water source, my partner did not mind but for me having a bath is part of my relaxation routine so that was a bit disappointing.

Pros: Beautifully furnished. Spacious. Plenty of wardrobe storage! Private space overlooking the lake. It felt like staying in someone's home.

Relaxing and beautiful

Pros: the locational is phenomenal, the lodge out looks the lake, the lake is a bit small but it’s an amazing view, the lodge is very luxurious, equipped with everything you need expect toiletries, which to be honest wasn’t mentioned in the ad.

Cons: although my experience was very good, there are few things that annoyed me, first of all, the lodge is located in a part of the leisure village that is behind a gate for car entry, which needs a key fob to enter, we were provided by only one key fob however we had 2 cars, which was very inconvenient as we weren’t moving around together, and when I asked for an additional one, I was told that there isn’t any. Secondly, there is no rubbish collection, you have to take the rubbish bags to the bins which are located around 10 mins walk from the lodge. Thirdly, there is no flexibility for the check-in, it’s at 17:00, I requested an early checkin at 16:00 but the request was rejected, I still arrived at the lodge at 16:00 and waited outside for an hour then got the key from the locker and entered, so no one was the lodge, so rejecting my request didn’t make any sense to me. and finally the mattresses are not comfortable at all, I think the owner should replace them. However, if I knew about all these points, I would’ve still booked it and I would book it again.

Pros: beautiful property on the lake. very modern and lovely decoration. so peaceful. Will definitely visit again. couldn’t fault it.
